Bohannon Bijouterie Bureau by Trevor O'Neil

11-06-2008trevor.jpgArtist and furniture designer (and Re-nest reader) Trevor O'Neil just sent us links to images of this amazing wall-mounted jewelry cabinet. It is a custom piece made from various pieces of hard and soft scrap wood.

We're struck by how whimsical the piece is. It's a jewelry cabinet, but when we see it in motion, it reminds us of the antique cuckoo-clock our great aunt had in her kitchen.

11-06-2008trevor2.jpgWe're not woodworkers by any stretch of the imagination, but we wonder if you could recreate something similar on your own with, as O'Neil suggests, a variety of mix-matched boxes?

See more photos of the Bohannon Bijouterie Bureau here.

(Thanks, Trevor!)

Wow, that is really lovely... I wonder how much a slightly smaller version would cost...
