Used Skateboard Decks as Art? San Francisco Chronicle

We've seen used skateboard decks repurposed in a lot of ways, but we'd never seen them hung up like art. What do you think. Does it work?

This entryway was designed for a single Google exec in San Francisco as part of the Design Above All contest put on by the San Francisco Design Center.

We'd definitely go for the skateboards if we knew the owner of the home was either an A) dedicated skateboarder or B) huge skateboard fan. Otherwise, it doesn't seem very authentic.

We do know that skateboards can be beautiful. How would you feel about 20+ skateboards decorating your front room?
