AT on... Shower Time

8-15-shower.jpgWe're always trying different ways to green our lives. An area we focus a lot of our energy on is our water consumption. Something we've always done to keep our water consumption down is to keep a (waterproof) timer in our shower...

...It helps us get in and out within 7 minutes. Sometimes we can do it in 5 minutes, sometimes we wish we could stay in there forever (our apartment can get very cold!). Our question is this: How much time do you need in the shower? Do you think keeping a timer in or nearby your shower would help you stay focused and cut down on your time?

Definitely not more than 5, usually about 3 min.

Having a toddler stand outside of the shower, asking to "take shower - mommy!" seems to be the best shower timer - and it's free! Typically in and out in 5-7 minutes.

I used to occasionally get lost in the shower. Akin to "Hudson's Mom" my timer is 13 months old and very noisy. We have a glass shower door so he can't climb in and we've baby proofed the bathroom and closet, so I hop in the shower and go as fast as I can while he complains and or empties the sock drawer. Once the other day I jumped out and started to dry off when I realized I still had conditioner in my hair!

I do not keep a timer but after I wash my hair, first thing I do, I turn the water off until it's time to rinse and get out. Regardless I average about 5 min.
