Not to gloat, but we've got the day off today. (We knew we needed it when we looked at this image of the Lincoln Monument and the first thing that jumped to mind was wall graphics!)
If you've got the day off, invite a not-so-lucky friend over tonight for dinner or a drink... for inspiration, check out the kitchn. And take a minute to brush up on the history of the holiday if you're feeling rusty.
(Some) Canadians have the day off too (Family Day), for far less historically relevant reasons. Don't care though, a stat holiday is a good thing, whatever the reason!
