I was always a fan of the G4 cube, and even considered picking one up from eBay so that I could upgrade the specs to something more respectable. Alternatively you could take a different approach to bring that classic design back into your house.

Cram a Mac Mini, Airport Extreme and external hard drive into it. Clever, although all the different colors in there ruin the overall look for me.

Ryan, my thoughts are very similar to yours.
I love the idea, but would likely use wet sanding with a high grit paper and an airbrush to get a cohesive look.
Just an idea, maybe something like a cold cathode light, powered off the Mac Mini and you could have not only a machine of form, but also function as it could double as a lamp?
