So maybe the point of stocking stuffers is to fill up a stocking — but what about avoiding "stuff" altogether and take a cue from Heather Armstrong (you probably know her as Dooce) who's putting together holiday gift guides this week. She added a few iPhone apps to her "For Him" list, and that got us thinking: why not give apps as green gifts?
Check out our previous roundup of iPhone apps that will help you or a friend go green here. Any of these would make the perfect eco-friendly stocking stuffer for your favorite iPhone user.
But really, any app avoids packaging and shipping, making them all very green as gifts—so do some browsing for the perfect stocking stuffer for your gift recipient!

this one is actually an apple store FAIL- you can't gift apps, you can only buy gift cards that the receiver can redeem for apps.

Yeah, but this is still a cute idea. Maybe attach a little note to the gift card that gives some ideas of good apps that you think that person would use or enjoy. My boyfriend is getting us iphones for christmas so I might take advantage of this idea for a stocking stuffer for him.
