Hot or Not? Fashionation 4 A Cause Speakers

New York Magazine lists them in their 2007 gift guide as one of eight items to buy a "Green-Minded Teen." The speakers are made of 100% recycled materials, and they're easily collapsible for storage. We worry they might be too easily collapsible. What do you think?

I vote not. Buying "green" crap doesn't make the crap less craptastic, nor does it make the recipient more truly consumption conscious. Buy something that the person needs, will use, and that will last.

Also, these are fugly.

I bought a set on a whim to use at work, and they sound great...no problems with random collapse so far! I'm not in love with the way they look, but for the price, they're better than a set of chunky off-white speakers.

Way to rip off Muji's iconic cardboard speakers. Why not get a plain set at Muji and decorate them yrself?
