Fork Tines as Place Card Holder

1121_fork.jpg

If you're using place cards at your dinner table this holiday, maybe consider using something that's already on the table as a holder: the tines of each setting's fork. I found this idea when planning for my wedding and put it right to use as it reduces clutter at the table and can save a lot of time and money for more important elements of your party...

What To Do with Clementine Boxes

1117_clementine3.jpg

Plant a container garden in an old clementine box.

We've been picking up clementines at the market lately, and they generally come in handy wooden boxes. While we've seen Maxwell's neat idea for repurposing the clementine peel, we haven't talked much on reusing the boxes...

How To... Reuse Political Campaign Signs
Come Wednesday Morning

1031fourmis1_.jpg

Earlier this week we saw Les Fourmis' Campaign Sign Reuse. They got creative in reusing all of that political signage that's posted during a campaign then generally goes to waste after an election's over. In the days following Canada's recent election, Les Fourmis removed such signs and gave them a new purpose. A few of you asked if instructions were available so you could do this yourself come November 5...

Cosgrove, with his consulting company Écohabitation, helped bring LEED for Homes to Canada, which will start up next spring. Read on for more than a few ways that Cosgrove practices sustainable living in his own home...

Carrot Bouquets as Display

1006_carrot2.jpg

At a party we attended this weekend, we spotted bouquets of carrots arranged in simple glass vases. The carrots were down in the water and their greens sprouted out of the tops. Guests at the party eventually even plucked carrots here and there from the arrangements and nibbled away. We didn't get any snapshots, but these pics give you the idea...
