Green Ideas: The Jax Line

06-08-07GrId1.jpgSustainability is the name of the game and the Jax Line from Nest truly delivers.

Nest's line of children's furniture and accessories is both modern and environmentally friendly and with them, they've shown that products can be both sustainable and attractive.

As it is so aptly put on their Web site, "We believe that a product is not really well designed unless its environmental impact has been considered…By using, selling, and buying sustainable materials, and by carefully selecting responsible, caring manufacturers, we believe that we are promoting the economic, environmental, and social health of our community and communities around the world."

Nest uses organic cotton, curved plywood and water-based finishes on their wood furniture and the materials are all recycled. We love that!

Among the items we liked were a toy bag ($36) good for quick toy storage or as a cute tote bag; the minimally designed hamper ($88); the Peanut step stools ($59.99) which come in several sherbet colors; and the Jax Organic Chairs ($96) pictured above.

What's going on with the book club? Did I miss a post? There shouldn't be a post telling us to read over the weekend if you're not going to post about it during the week.

I've asked before and not received an answer: Why is AT:Green the one subsite that does not have Open Threads, thus preventing readers from sharing interesting "green" news?
