Pirate Bed by Loftus Designs

2-11-2008pirate_boat.jpg

When we were little, we were always kind of jealous of the kids in our class who had those really cool plastic race car beds. You know the ones we're talking about? They were great because you could pretend like you were driving in the Indy 500 and then sleep in the same place.

Pardon the pun, but we think this bed blows those race car beds out of the water.

The pirate bed ($3,095 for a twin) from Loftus Designs is made from FSC-certified wood and can be finished, upon request, with child-safe, environmentally-friendly stains.

We would've eaten our broccoli for a solid year for one of these.

The cross at the head of the bed is creepy.

It's so expensive! The plastic race car bed is less than $200. And yeah, I don't like the cross at the head of the bed either.

It's a mast, you guys. You can't have a ship without a mast. (it would be better with a couple more yards, but I guess then you have to worry about kids climbing it?)
