Organic Textiles from Ortolan

ortolan-3.jpg

Ortolan is the handiwork of sister designers Bethany and Jenna Mallet, former Ohio farm girls currently based out of Manhattan. Their line of organic textiles — including kitchen tea towels, cloth napkins, pillows, blankets and hand towels — feature fanciful images of birds, snails and sea life (and even dinosaur bones!) on organic cotton and chambray, all hand-dyed with natural pigments. The result is a crisp, clean collection that'll whisk you away to a seaside cabin on a cool, salty Saturday...

Some of our favorite pieces in the collection include the Modern Herringbone blanket made of 100% Certified organic tanguis cotton hand-woven and hand-dyed in Peru, and the Skeleton Pillow with a removable vegan-friendly Kapok filling, currently sold out. (Boo.)

You can purchase items from Ortolan at a number of locations, so visit their site to see their whole collection. Enjoy!
