Behind the Scenes at Yolo Colorhouse

Color family cards are laid out and painted en masse.

Each card is carefully painted by hand with actual paint.

The poster-size color samples are painted with a roller in a long strip. When dry, the strip is cut into individual samples.

The individual samples are stacked on Metrowire carts and rolled into tubes.

Yolo has a resident chemist responsible for the formulation of their paint.

Kraft paper used when making the color family cards is framed and displayed as art.
