Natural Home Magazine's Kitchen of the Year is the perfect example of a great green remodel. Homeowners Katey Miller and Scott Goodrich took a kitchen that was awkward and almost hopeless, and transformed it into a space that is now useful and beautiful.
It's small but super functional; it was apparently affordable (although the article gives no final dollar amount); and it utilizes all sorts of green materials -- salvaged wood, Forest Stewardship Council-certified plywood, low-VOC paints, recycled ceramic tile, etc.
