Blogging Real Simple: New Uses for Everyday Things

Tagline: The Multitasking Hall of Fame. From 2005, but definitely still worth a look, these lists from Real Simple are full of smart, old (and new) fashioned, low-cost solutions.

Organized by item, click around to garner some inspiration - you may find that you'll free up cabinet space and reduce your household waste by incorporating some of the ideas: Lemons, Newspapers, Coffee Filters, Olive Oil, Baking Soda, Vinegar, Velcro and Salt.

And if you liked those, here is a short follow up article, very appropriately titled: Even More New Uses for Everyday Things.

More suggestions:
Scrub the tub with baking soda, then rinse with vinegar. I've had this remove grime that the scrubby-bubble stuff left behind.

Vinegar can be used as a rinse/fabric softener for all clothes - there is no smell left, either.

And olive oil is a *great* moisturizer for skin.

I use these all the time, hope someone else finds them useful...
