Jonathan posted about Monica Hesse's Washington Post article last week here at Re-nest. The post prompted some seriously interesting comments -- but we weren't the only ones who noticed this article ...
Josh Dorfman (aka The Lazy Environmentalist), who was directly quoted in the Washington Post article, has a few things to say in response to the piece. We're impressed that his answer isn't overly defensive -- check it out.

Agree with the WP article -- consumerism in the name of green is just a more palatable term for greed. Better to let older items live out their life span, then turn them over to a recycling facility -- not just run out and buy organic cotton sheets or a $2000 HE washer & dryer when your older set works just fine. We're trying to live more harmoniously with nature without going into considerable debt.
