Better Homes and Gardens and Clorox have produced a travelling exhibit to show how you can go green.

Lots of familiar ideas here: as shown left, use reusable containers instead of disposable bags, change your incandescent light bulbs to CFLs, and repurpose old furniture instead of buying new. We spied one of the freshest ideas in the background, however...

Check out the lamp. The stem is a good-looking and clever use for all those wasteful incandescent bulbs you'll be throwing away... any one care to put together a DIY for this idea?

We can't figure out from the angle of this photo if the light bulbs are simply glued onto the stem of the lamp, or if they've been drilled out and the lamp stem actually goes through the middle... that would be the slick way to do this, in our opinion. We've poked around a bit at Instructables but can't find out how one would go about cutting a light bulb. Readers: any ideas?

I saw bulbs spray painted and used for garden decor with metal wire twisted around it and stuck into the ground, it looked neat.

It looks like there is a clear glass or plexi rectangular column stand with the lightbulbs inside of it.

what about using all those incandescents, stringing them together the way those new 1,000 bulb chandeliers look, hanging them and then illuminating with a skylight, track light, or some other directional light?
