A Guide to Urban Homesteading

8-29-2009ruby.jpgA little earlier today, Amber wrote about the resurgence of modern homesteading. If you're interested in jumping on the bandwagon, but don't know where to start, we just found a nice collection of resources (this will be especially helpful for you if you live in the Bay Area of California) ...

The San Francisco Chronicle's article Bay Area Homesteading 101 is by no means an exhaustive list of resources available to urban homesteaders. However, it is a fantastic place to start if you're just getting into the idea of canning your own summer fruits, raising chickens, keeping bees, or rigging your own greywater system.

We've already bookmarked a number of the web sites they recommend — we're excited about all the classes we can take this fall. Institute for Urban Homesteading here we come!
