Good Green Resource: Real Simple ... Rediscovered

2-10-2009citurs.jpgI'm a magazine buff. I have way too many subscriptions, and when I step foot in a bookstore, I make a beeline for the racks of glossy covers.

But I never really understood Real Simple. It didn't seem like my kind of magazine, and I figured I wasn't the demographic. But, this weekend, while home visiting my family, I found myself thumbing through a number of my mom's back issues.

I was impressed ....

 
 

Real Simple, in its own little way, is a pretty green magazine. And the stuff that I consider green in the magazine? Well, they don't even label it as "green" content. And I find that refreshing.

For instance, we were just reading this article: "Extend the Life of Electronic Gadgets." It has instructions on how to keep your iPod out of the landfill by extending its life. The magazine is full of stuff like this.

But, our very favorite feature in the magazine is something called: New Uses for Everyday Things. They have 284 of them so far, and they add more every month.
