Useful green resource alert!
While researching some information for a different post, we accidentally happened upon Co-op America's National Green Pages.
It is, as the name suggests, essentially a yellow pages-type directory of green businesses.
With about 3,000 businesses listed, the directory isn't exhaustive; still, we find it exceptionally attractive because Co-op America has a screening committee that "investigates each applying company to determine its familiarity with and commitment to social and environmental responsibility, and looks for significant evidence of this commitment in the practices and policies of the company."
If a company doesn't pass muster, you won't find its name in the directory.

thanks so much for the heads up! for the past two years, i've been trying to get an idea of building a "green" home. i've been attempting to figure everything possible out and it's overwhelming. sometimes it can be overwhelming to the point of forgetting about certain ways you live your current life. i do the best i can by making my own dishcloths, cleaning products, etc. but resources like this can make it easier and i appreciate it!
