The latest version of the Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics (they do one every year) lets us know which electronics manufacturers are being kind to the earth and which ones could care less. Things that make you fall into that second shameful group are using environmentally unfriendly materials, power guzzling batteries and producing masses of non-biodegradable electronic waste. Greenpeace does this list every year because the world is consuming more and more electronic products, causing a dangerous explosion in toxic-chemical-containing e-waste and heavy metals that cannot be disposed of or recycled safely.
These potentially dangerous mountains of obsolete electronic products will keep growing toward the sky unless electronics corporations that profit from making and selling the so not green devices face up to their responsibilities.
While pressing the leading offending electronics companies to change, Greenpeace wants to show it is possible to make clean, durable products that can be upgraded, recycled, or disposed of safely and don't end up as hazardous waste in someone's backyard.

Very cool. I feel good about owning a Nokia phone now. Incidentally, I was at the post office here in Australia the other day, and they now supply mobile phone recycle bags which you just hand in for free phone recycling goodness!
I really wish Apple would raise their game, they should be better than that.

Greenpeace automatically dumps Nintendo to the bottom of the list because Nintendo does not release it's manufacturing information. They're very hush hush.
