The Greenwashing Index

We don't talk about greenwashing too much here -- but it does come up every once in awhile.

We're not in favor of greenwashing; however, when it's uncovered in the right way, it can be sort of amusing.

Which brings us to the Greenwashing Index. An interactive site that invites people to send in youtubed or print ads that seem like greenwashing.

Once it has been uploaded it gets voted on based on five different criteria: does the ad mislead with words, does the ad mislead with visuals or graphics, does the ad make a green claim that seems unprovable, does the ad exaggerate how green the product is, and does the ad leave out important information?

They've also got a great article up on how to spot greenwashing.

If you were going to submit something to the Greenwashing Index -- what product or company would you start with?
