Inspiration: Simple Home on a Hill in Chile

This simple home was built a few years ago on a hill side in Chile, and was designed to be low impact both in appearance and in its use of materials. Total cost? About $15,000...

The original site is in Spanish, but Google Translate provides some insight into the design and purpose of the home.

The small home has a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and uses an exterior balcony to connect the interior spaces. The exterior was built of impregnated pine, to protect against moisture, while unfinished pine was used on the inside. The predominant materials used were wood and stone slab.
