Natural Home's article lists some of the usual suspects (baking soda, lemons, etc.) but also includes a few things we've never cleaned with before (borax and washing soda).
What we really like are their recipes for a variety of cleaners:
- Surface cleaner
- Lemongrass dustcloths
- Creamy nonabrasive cleaner
- Pre-vacuum carpet freshener

I haven't used borax, but water, washing soda, and Dr. Bronner's make a fantastic all-purpose cleaner. Plus, of course, washing soda can be added to the wash.
