Have you switched to a greener laundry detergent yet? It can be a tough move and we understand. Even Jonathan is tied to his, er, Tide. But, if you're thinking of making the switch and haven't done it yet, or if you have a green laundry detergent and aren't happy with it, here are 8 green options -- take your pick!
All the links are after the jump.

Most review sites say that laundry balls/disks are an expensive scam. And while the Laundry Balls are "soapless", they do contain"non-ionic surfacent" which is another way of describing...synthetic detergent. I think that you could buy quite a bit of detergent for $75.

I've used method for years, and I love it. It's not the most eco of the options, but it is a nice split-the-difference detergent.

I posted about greening your laundry a few days ago... http://www.wetakeiteasy.com/2008/09/green-your-whites/
We've been thinking of trying the ecoballs, but we're a bit afraid of not liking them and wasting money

I tried an environmentally friendly detergent from Trader Joe's a few years ago and I was pretty disappointed with the results.
Why is Method not the most eco of the options? Just wondering.

what about charlie's soap? http://www.charliesoap.com/ started using it after i saw it posted on one of the AT websites, and we LOVE it. i tried method at one point and i feel like charlie's does a much better job of cleaning our clothes. leaves the clothes so clean that we don't feel the need to use dryer sheets anymore. also, one little bag of the powder does 80 loads and it works w/ the high efficiency washers.
