Remember how we said we don't like carpet? We should explain, because what we really don't like is all the dust, allergens and general nastiness that a carpet collects and holds onto.
If you can get a carpet really, really clean then it's not quite as bad.
Eureka's EnviroVac ($72) claims to do just that: Get carpets really, really clean and not waste too much energy or material in the process.
The EnviroVac uses 33% less energy than your standard upright vacuum, is shipped in 100% recycled packaging, has a washable, reusable HEPA filter (and no bags to toss out), and supposedly caputres 99.7% of dust and allergens.
Does it work well, though?
The people at Sustainablog got their hands on an EnviroVac and gave it a whirl, and they gave it two thumbs up.
