Spring cleaning is a chore. We all know that. But having the right tools will make you more willing to do it, and will make the job easier once you get going. We've rounded up some of our favorite tools — from vacuums to sponges — for an easy green clean...
• Best vacuums: Miele and Dyson come out on top.
• Best Paper Towel Alternatives: we love the Twist Euro cloth and Twist biodegradable sponge and Trader Joe's Super Amazing Kitchen Cloth and Pop-up Sponges. Also, general microfiber cloths are invaluable.
• Best Scrub Brushes: these recycled brushes have our hearts.
• Best Cleaning Solutions: baking soda and vinegar are good places to start if you're up for DIY'ing your cleaning supplies. If you're looking for a good brand, we like Method, Mrs. Meyer's, and Seventh Generation, although there are some fine other green cleaners out there like Simply Neutral, which we recently heard about and are really digging. Also check out BioShield's floor care products. We've also used Dr. Bronner's castile soap anytime we need a gentle, soapy solution to wipe down our furniture, and it's worked fine by us.
• Best Brooms: Shaker brooms! Maxwell has got this one covered, from high to low end.
