Whether your prefer red or white at the Thanksgiving table, Yellow plus Blue wine is sure to add a little (green) color to the conversation.
Organic, and sealed inside a cardboard box to cut down on shipping from Argentina, I was intrigued. But is it any good?
With an offer of “Hey if you don’t like it, you know where I work," from my local wine store clerk, I took my $12 box home. Peeling off the plastic cap (no cork here) we happily noticed it was a full liter instead of .75 liter.
Taste?
We’re going to be honest. It wasn’t bad. Certainly not like the boxed kind we used to drink during college days. But another wine shop has a bottle for $12 we prefer, and we kind of missed the cork ritual.
Lesson learned?
We’re definitely willing to think outside the box.
I read an interesting article one time. Cork forests are actually renewable and have a high level of biodiversity. If corks end up going away (due to plastic caps, screw tops, etc), those forests may end up being plowed for development.
