When it comes to green escapes, we can't think of anything much better than a camping trip.
Many of us, especially in California, are lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing campgrounds. You can drive 30 minutes and feel like you're hundreds of miles away. And, once you get there, tent camping leaves a very small footprint. (We'll have to talk about campfires in another post.)

I think you mean car-camping, or at least, camping at no great remove. Otherwise, this would be mighty fragile and a bit big and heavy for something that only does one thing.
Back when I did any hiking and camping, we carried a nesting set of lightweight pots with our campstove, a tiny Svea, in the middle. And we just boiled the coffee, which works fine with practice.
Our luxury on the trail were packets of instant fruit soup.

Hot liquid and plastic do not mix in my book... I'll pass. I'd rather settle for instant coffee in a ceramic coated steel mug.
