New Greenish Ziploc evolve Bags

08_28_09_ziploc.jpgWhile we'd prefer to pack all of our lunchtime goodies in alternatives to plastic, like reusable sandwich bags, we can think of a few reasons we like having plastic zip bags around (most revolve around sheer convenience). Here's an option from Ziploc: their new evolve bags are touted as green!

The bags use 25 percent less plastic than their other Ziploc counterparts, are manufactured with approximately 50 percent reusable energy, and are packaged in 100 percent recycled cardboard boxes with at least 35 percent post-consumer content.

Not bad; though as one critic points out, it'd be more impressive if all of Ziploc's bags were manufactured this way, and not just one option offered for the green-hearted... But we'll take what we can get.

Think you'll pick some of these up at the store next time you're shopping? We're thinking they'd make a fine convenience option in the event that all of our reusable options are employed.

i very rarely use any plastic bags at all, but i would consider these if they actually would break down fairly quickly in a landfill. less plastic and less energy is great, but when are companies going to start making plastics that biodegrade quickly?
