Are we crazy? We like this Book Stool by Arik Levy. It's so simple, but so useful, and we sort of want it ... or, we want something very similar.
Or maybe we just want something that accomplishes the same end result. The concept -- turning magazines into a stool -- solves two of the largest problems we have in our apartment. 1. Not enough seating. 2. Too many magazines that we want to keep, but recycle for lack of space.
Now, the question is: Can this possibly be the least bit comfortable?

The concept is cool, since I own so many magazines and books, but I doubt it would be comfortable at all. Also, I'd be worried about them all falling over somehow ... they always seem to find a way.

well, you could sew adjustable straps to a cushion to make it more comfortable. You would probably have to keep it short to keep it stable though.
i could see it working on one hand. On the other hand, it wouldn't be very practical to move.

you could keep it by the door, to put on/off shoes.

I think it would always look like a stack of magazines.
But I'd try it anyway, given the right circumstances.

This is a joke, right? I mean would someone really pay for that? Seriously.

It is a joke. I just threw out a stack of magazines and I don't feel sorry.

I think this is a good idea. Now, I wouldn't try and sell one of these things, but I may try and come up with a unique, easy way to make your own and perhaps sell the straps or something. I would think that a cushion on top may solve the 'uncomfortable' problem. As to falling over, maybe this should be taken a step further. You know those little 'flower press' things? Two boards with screws to press the flowers? Maybe something along those lines. Two boards, mags between, and some ultra cool way to tighten the boards onto the magazines. Hmm.... *heads out to the workshop*
