9 Days of Green Gift Wrapping: Recycled Aluminum Foil
Day 2

12-12-2008foil.jpgIt's Day 2 of our 9 days of green gift wrapping.

We think this idea would work best on smaller gifts -- and could actually be pretty gorgeous. Everyone loves shiny things, right?

Get details and a link after the jump.

Day 2. Recycled Aluminum Foil

  • It's shinny, recycled, and after the package is opened, you could use it to bbq.

Hmmm .... what else could you do with it, after presents are opened?

(Greenfeet.com sells a 50 sq. foot roll for $5.25)

I work at a newspaper, and I accidentally found out that the plain brown paper all the print plates are wrapped in is silver on the inside. Now I have stacks and stacks of it. I have wrapped all my gifts in it, and instead of using ribbon, have black/red/white holiday sitckers I put on each box. Total cost for wrapping; $3 I spent on those stickers last year. Yay recycling!

I didn't see the earlier post but I suggest recycling bubble wrap as gift wrap. It comes with its own sound effects! And, can be recycled again for its original purposes.
