Daniel Michalik: Puts A Cork In It
Philadelphia

5-21cross.jpg

Daniel Michalik is an Industrial Design Professor at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He certainly practices what he preaches — as you can see from these amazing furniture designs. And yes, that's cork he's working with! Not only is this innovative, but it's also technically green. Daniel has found a way to create a produce using a scrap product that is completely recyclable...

Daniel Michalik's work focuses on the use of underutilized and pretty unconventional materials. The result is pretty amazing and creative. Cork is a recyclable, and totally sustainable material that works well in furniture design - it's also plentiful and extremely pliable (it certainly would have to be with some of his designs!)
