Easy DIY Side Table: Director's Chair & Vintage Suitcase

vintage_table_2-24.jpg

Sometimes you see something and can't help but thinking "Um, why didn't I think of that before?" A reader sent in this photo of her fab DIY side table: upon pondering what to do with a damaged canvas folding chair (a director's chair), she removed the chair backing, stained the legs ebony, and added a vintage suitcase as a tabletop. Voila!

We're thinking of doing this ourselves sometime. So simple and cool! See more at Fernseed.

Thanks, Kristine!

This is such a cool idea and in this case it looks great, too! There are a lot of old director's chairs around that could have a new life as this instead of ending up in the dump. ;o)
