Recycled Car Hood Tables

How I wish I could weld! Dallas Welder Joel Hester has turned the colorful and rusty hoods of junkyard cars into industrial yet magnificent tables which truly shine, and the most prominent parts of the table are salvaged...

Looking at the "before" photos of the hoods, it's hard to imagine another life for the metal scrap (besides being melted down into new metal). The frames are made from new steel tubing, but the top is all original. The industrial table is cleaned, buffed, and then clear-coated to preserve the oxidation and rust.

This table above was made from the hood of the car below. Joel also makes bed frames, desks, and armoires, but the tables are the most standout part of the collection.

These tables really take the reduce : reuse : recycle to a whole new level. Car parts I believe have been a sore spot for much of our landfills around the nation. FANTASTIC!

I simply must have one of these, it's brilliant, and beautiful! My husband bought me a beautiful brand new crafting table for xmas which is too large for my apt, and I can't even get an offer for it, what a waste! I guess we should all think a little bit before purchasing, and try to be resourceful.
