Reestore: Contemporary Eco Design

reestorefront.jpg

reestorelogo.jpgReestore is the brainchild of Max McMurdo, and the products clearly show that you don't need to sacrifice design and aesthetic in favor of environmental sustainability. Reestore excels in "cheekily" turning waste objects into stylish and functional pieces of furniture and accessories...

Take the Airplane Wing Desk, for example. Made out of an aluminum and supported by stainless steel legs topped with glass, the airplane wing desk would fit in perfectly in any modern office.

Certainly one of our favorites is the Bath Tub Chaise, created from a vintage cast iron bathtub and upholstered in a fabric of your choice!

Wow, I have such a hard time with "re-using" things and marketing them at prices like these. Admittedly, VERY clever... but $4200 (approx USD) for that desk? Yikes. And the chair - a modest $1000. Not unprecedented, incidentally, as long ago Ikea approached a manufacturer of shopping carts to create an affordable kitchen table - now THAT'S innovative thinking.
