House Ocho by Feldman Architecture

The House Ocho designed by Feldman Architecture is located on a nature preserve in the Santa Lucia mountains along the coast of California. This light and peaceful home was specifically designed to blend in and not detract from the natural surroundings, so the architects sunk the home into the ground and planted tall hanging grasses on the rooftop. But it's the view that absolutely kills us...

Feldman also divided the space into a series of pavilions: After passing through an entry grove, visitors can see distant views in-between and over the various building elements. As they are drawn into the widening view, they are led down from the tree-lined ridge to a large terrace that serves as an outdoor living room for the house..."

Feldman Architecture is a nationally recognized and award-winning design studio. They're members of the US Green Building Council and much of their work involves designing energy-efficient buildings that incorporate sustainable technologies and renewable materials.

Jonathan Feldman is also the author of Green Architecture Notes, so check that out!

Thanks, Jonathan!
