Indoor Drying Rack Marries Form and Function

IndoorDryingRack.jpg

Though the Greener Gadgets competition ended in February, we just had to share one of our favorite designs from Rob Podell: this stylish indoor drying rack. Made from bamboo laminate, and designed to cut energy costs by reducing dryer usage, this drying rack is as eco-friendly as they come...

The renewable bamboo construction is naturally mold and mildew resistant, making it a great choice for moist areas. The bottom slats feature pre-drilled holes spaced to allow the unit to be mounted to your wall studs. User selectable spines allow you to adjust the surface area and vary the air circulation; this rack would be ideal for delicates and for items like sweaters that are best dried flat. When not in use, the rack simply folds flat against the wall, creating a unique wave-like artwork.

This lovely design by Rob Podell won third place in the Greener Gadgets competition, giving us hope it may go into mass production so we can get our hands on one!

Someone needs to work on their Photoshop technique, that's some of the worst Photoshopping I've ever seen.

Bad Photoshopping aside, that rack looks useless. If your scale is to be believed, I can fit maybe two bras and two panties on it. That's great, but what about the 4 pairs of jeans, 10 shirts, 8 pairs of socks, 7 boxers, and 5 additional panties that are also in that load of laundry?
