Patrick Blanc in San Francisco

We're fans of Patrick Blanc's work. He is, after all, the man who essentially invented vertical gardens. So, we're pretty thrilled that he's bringing his amazing green walls to San Francisco...

In a San Francisco Chronicle article Blanc calls himself "a botanist who thought of a new way to grow plants." The image above the jump is the Musee du Quai Branly in Paris, Blanc's most well-known vertical garden. If you like the looks of it and live in the Bay Area, you have reason to get excited: Blanc will be designing a vertical garden for the new wing of the San Francisco Drew School.

This will be Blanc's largest American green wall.
