Conserve Switchable Surge Protector by Belkin

Ok, we'll admit it: eliminating vampire energy is probably our hardest non-green habit to quit. It's hard enough to remember to get everyone in the house to remember to turn off all the lights, let alone turn off and unplug all our gadgets and appliances. That's why we're so excited that the Belkin Conserve Surge protector is now available for purchase in the US. What makes this different from a lot the other products we've seen is that it comes with a wireless remote on/off switch and it's affordable...

The wireless switch makes using the Belkin Conserve easy — even for the laziest of us. We think the best place to put the switch is right next to your front door, so it's right there to flip off when you leave the house. You can even buy extra wireless switches so that you're never too far from being able to cut off the power.

Another really convenient thing about this product is it comes with two 'always on' outlets for electronics that are to never be turned off like phones, internet routers, clocks, etc.

The Belkin Conserve is $49.99 for the 8-Outlet Surge Protector, $59.99 for the 10-Outlet.

why does the wireless router need to always be on? If you're not home, or you've turned off your computer, who needs it to be on? Unless you're providing internet for the neighbors. :)

For some reason when our power goes out and comes back on my router for some reason gets messed up and I have to hit the reset button on the back. Because of this I always leave it on even though I'm gone all day. Anybody know a fix to this??
