Freeplay Kito Wind Up Flashlight

W839211509.jpgWe were cleaning out the depths of our dimly closet the other day (thanks to 10 closet cleanse tips) when we realized that not only are we out of batteries, but we also don't own a flashlight...

Then we came across this one. You crank it for 60 seconds and get an hour of LED light. We love that in case of an actual emergency (and not just the fashion kind) this one's ready to go.

Get the goods here, for $29.99.

My FIL's company gave him a crank multipurpose gadget that has an am/fm/noaa radio, lantern, siren, and this brackety LED reading light that pops out. There's some sort of cell phone jack, but we haven't figured out what kind of adapter is supposed to go in it yet.

During the post-Ike outage, we spent a lot of time cranking the radio even though we had battery-powered goodies too, because there was nothing else to do. Fortunately we had power back within two days, unlike most of the city.
