Now if this becomes the norm, the way we use our cell phone would change forever. No more worrying about charging every night, no more lugging chargers when we travel, no more car charging adapters and more importantly no more having to worry about vampire energy sucking wall warts.
Green Idea: Charge Your Cell Phone by Walking
Motion to Energy claims that only minor jostling is enough to keep your mobile phone charged. Reminiscent of Seiko kinetic watches which have been around since 1986, we are itching to see this make it mainstream not only for cellphones but all portable electronics.

I saw the M2E Power representative at Greener Gadgets on Friday. It sounds pretty exciting. If I heard the numbers right, just carrying around your cell phone and walking for 1-2 hours will get you 1/2 hour to an hour of talk time.
