The best way to avoid drawing unnecessary current is to unplug all your unused chargers or electronics. While this is what we should do, many people complain that the plug in question is hidden behind a couch and not easily accessible. More than likely, human nature is to blame and we are simply too lazy. If you fall into the second category, the Isolé IDP-3050 power strip might be a good option for you.
What makes this power bar special is the 'personal occupancy sensor'. While 2 of the 8 outlets are always powered on for those electronics that need uninterrupted power, the remaining six are controlled by the sensor. If you walk away from your desk, those outlets shut down, when you come back they are powered on so you are only using electricity when you need to be.

So... my cell phone will stop charging if I'm away from the outlet? Hunh? Or my charger will just stop sucking juice from the current when there's not a cell phone plugged into it? Will my computer get shut down if I'm taking a shower while I wait for the god-forsaken Norton to finally allow Vista through it's checkpoint-Charlie-ness and let me do some danged banking? Not sure this sounds like a slam-dunk win-win. Hmmm....
