Sungevity Looks to Make Solar Simpler
San Francisco Chronicle 5.17.2009

5-15-2009solarpanels.jpgAs much as we'd love to one day live in a home with solar panels, the process seems daunting — complicated and expensive. Luckily, there's a Berkeley startup that's trying to change that...

Berkeley's Sungevity, is attempting to make solar panels easier to acquire by selling them online and using a software that makes the process cheaper and more straightforward. At Sungevity.com, you can type in your address and within 24 hours you'll receive a firm (and free) purchase and installation estimate.

Sungevity's software also streamlines the process of applying for all of those state and federal rebates.

Cool app! If only I owned my apartment.... For LA County people who're considering this -- Another app that could help is the L.A. County Solar Map. Plug in your address to get your place’s potential to produce solar power, including roof area suitable for solar, kW potential, electricity savings, carbon savings, etc.
