Style and Substance: Reversible Totes from Green Girl

GreenGirlWorld.jpg

We've posted quite a bit recently on reusable bags (and more reusable bags). Maybe it's because the warmer weather has us thinking about farmer's markets, flea markets, our CSA share — all of which require a bag of some sort! (And plastic is so last season.) Whatever the reason for our recent enthusiasm, we have another great option to add to the mix. We first heard about Green Girl at the Green Products Expo a few weeks ago, and we've been obsessed with their colorful reversible totes ever since...

Great colors, cool patterns. All of Green Girl’s bags are reversible, so you get 2 bags for the price of one! Their Eco Totes come in one of two materials: a heavier canvas (which has been great for hauling around our laptop) and a lightweight cotton. Totally versatile, functional and roomy at 15 ½"W x 17"H, you can use the totes as a reusable shopping bag, a gym bag, beach tote, or in-flight carry-on.

They also carry Eco Jutes — strong, durable bags made of 100% jute — as well as totes for kids and lightweight, compact Travel Pouches. Prices range from $45 for the lightweight cotton totes and $55 for the canvas totes to $100 for the travel pouch.

Coming soon... produce bags and recycled leather bags! Can't wait to see those.

Doesn't everyone have enough bags already? These look okay, but flimsy.

Hi Palmetto,

I own one (I think it's the canvas one) and I can vouch for the fact that it's not flimsy at all. I carry around my laptop, wallet, cords, and other misc. items with me all day (a very heavy load) and it hardly shows any wear whatsoever.
