Apple Orchard & Pumpkin Patch: Any Farm Visits This Fall?

2009-11-04-Farm.jpgThe fall is perhaps the one time of year we get ourselves out to a farm. Autumn is prime time for farms, what with all the apple-picking, pumpkin patch, and corn maze fun to be had. Did you go and visit a farm this fall? If so, where did you go?

Of course, if you haven't made it out to a farm yet, it's not too late! It's prime apple-picking time in much of the country, including the East and Midwest. There are plenty of pumpkin patches still open (maybe it's time to make your Thanksgiving pumpkin puree?) and most farmstands will be open until Thanksgiving.

So take one of these crisp, clear weekends and head out to a farm in the country. There are great deals to be had at local farmstands (we just stocked up on butternut squash!) and it's always good to stash a few pounds of truly fresh apples away for the winter.

We visited a local organic farm, loaded with great produce, for the first time recently. Loved it!

We're considering a regular visit, monthly!
