Green Eating: Leon Seasonal Food Chart

10-11-10SeasonalFoodChart.jpg

Is your resolution to eat healthier and be a little bit greener this year? Get on top of both with this easy to follow seasonal food chart from UK restaurant, Leon.

Leon is one of the UK's top healthy food restaurants, using only local and natural ingredients, and changes their menu accordingly with the seasons. This infographic from the Leon cookbook organizes fruit, vegetables, herbs, fish and meat into the four seasons and color codes them for easy reading. Even though the infographic is made for the UK, it can also apply to most of North America.

The chart comes in a handy, large format PDF version - print it out and hang in your kitchen to stay on track. Don't forget seasonal eating is not only good for your body and the environment, but can also good for your bottom line.

Oh Wow! What an excellent link! I haven't eaten Leon's food for a few years now. I used to go to a festival where his lot set up a buffet-style cafe stall and eating at least one meal from there was essential. I really should get round to going to his restaurant!

Also, I shall DEFINITELY be downloading and making use of the seasonal chart, not just for myself but also for work. I've been given the slightly worrying task of leading pupils towards making our school more sustainable, which covers everything from recycling to resource purchasing... somewhere in there is food growing and healthy eating amongst other things.... Anyway, the chart will certainly prove useful!

Thank you for continuing to inform and inspire us!

There is another chart that I just bought that is beautiful and is specific to the Bay area. The Local Foods Wheel can be found all around and they also have a version for the New York Metro Area. Find it here: http://www.localfoodswheel.com/index.html

Thanks! It is a beautiful chart and looks quite nice on my fridge!

What a gorgeous chart! I might laminate it and stick it to the side of my fridge!
