A Funky Low-Water Home in LA
Los Angeles Times

9-11-2009lowwater.jpgArtist Kenny Scharf's home in the hills of Culver City is a fascinating collection of flea market finds and self-designed/customized pieces of furniture and appliances. But his yard is all xeriscaping, all the time.

We love this quote from Kenny:

"I disconnected my sprinkler system years ago and ripped out the lawn. I'm against lawns in Los Angeles. I think they're a waste of water. It's crazy that the government is trying to get people to use less water and at noon there are sprinklers going on the side of the freeway."

We couldn't agree more.
