Green with Laughter: Plant Amnesty

Thanks to loyal re-nest reader Lora, who tipped us off to a hilarious blog post about the Seattle-based movement Plant Amnesty. It's hilarious... or at least we think so.

Susan over at Garden Rant explains that Plant Amnesty has "actual staff, officers, and a quarterly newsletter" all dedicated to one simple mission: to end the senseless torture and mutilation of trees and shrubs.

We're still chuckling over the Shear Madness gallery, where in addition to these images you can view such horticultural wonders as "touch tone dialing" and the "cactus pine."

Behind the humor, there's a serious cause, and we like that. Our own corner of the world could lighten up a bit, no?
