We're gardening novices here at re-nest, but we've found the Edible Estates project quite inspiring.
As a result, we're trying to ease into horticulture, which is how we found this kit. It comes with everything you need to grow mushrooms at home.

If you've ever wanted to grow your own mushrooms (the fully legal variety, of course) there are a number of kits available online. Most are seasonally available, though, so you'll have to order now or wait until September. You can get the usual suspects: button or portabella, or a few slightly more exotic choices.
Kits from Mushroom Adventures run from $31-$34. Each kit will make around 3 productive crops of mushrooms.
We're wondering if this means there might be a productive use for our crawlspace...
cool! I just ordered a button mushroom kit!

I was wondering if "Edible Estates" mentions anything about growing some sort of food in apartment settings.
I live in an apartment in a city and therefore don't have room to grow a garden, but would like to grow some sort of food. I would order a kit if it could be used in an apartment setting. Do you know of any other companies or books that take about this subject?
