For those of you who are a bit skeptical of the whole no-dig garden set-up: Here's our friend Hulda Nelson's no-dig garden at week 4.
She says that her two varieties of carrots are ready to thin; that the surviving beets (the ones not ravaged by birds) are thriving and she's planted a second set of seed — under nets, this time.
Her pole and bush beans are beginning to flower; the corn is thinned and about a foot high; and the lettuce, planted a week ago, is sprouted and growing fast.
We'll check in with her again later (most likely when there's some fresh corn on the grill)!
